The american giant has published a list of recipients of its Rise Award. The initiative aims to support those who work to increase access and interest in Computer Science.
According to Google’s website, RISE Award recipients receive:
- Funding: Grants range from $15,000 to $50,000 USD.
- Access to a global network of CS partners: This includes an invitation to the annual RISE Global Summit and participation in the Google+ online community.
- Consultancy with Google experts and volunteers: Learn about technical tools & organizational development over the course of 12 months.
This year, there were four grantees in sub-saharan Africa: @iLabAfrica (Nairobi, Kenya), Africa Teen Geeks | (Johannesburg, South Africa), Co-Creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) (Lagos, Nigeria) and Rainbow Gate Foundation Nigeria (Abeokuta, Nigeria).
